To the Redwing Lacrosse Club:
These are exciting times for the Redwing Lacrosse Club and there is an incredible amount of information to pass along to our club.
This coming Monday October 26th, we will be holding an informational meeting for the 2010 lacrosse season in the Benet Cafeteria at 7:00 pm. While this is not a mandatory meeting, it will be the best opportunity for our players and parents to get a complete understanding of the 2010 season and what we expect to happen to the club in 2011. We will discuss among other things:
-Lacrosse becoming an IHSA sport in 2011 -The expected integration into Benet Academy as a Varsity team -Registration on November 9th at 7:00pm in the Benet Cafeteria -Registration costs -Winter programs at Players indoor lacrosse -Practice and game plans -The 2010 schedule -The 2010 coaching staff -Spring break plans -The new Catholic lacrosse league -The plans for the new Benet athletic fields
During this past off season, we have had a number of firsts: We held our first Summer Lacrosse Camp for incoming freshman staffed by our current and some of our Alumni players and it was a great success. We began our first off season workout program and we have over 20 players working out every Tuesday and Thursday after school this fall preparing for our spring schedule. We won out first Varsity summer league title against our former Dupage Valley opponents. We will begin this new year with another first....The first games of the new Chicago Catholic Lacrosse League.
If you have any questions about this meeting or anything else please send me an e-mail to matt.dingens@caruscorporation.com or call me at home at 630-717-5347.
We look forward to seeing you on Monday.
Sincerely,
Matt Dingens

The Benet Lacrosse Club recently completed their Freshman camp. Highlights of the final day of the camp were a demonstration by JakeDeane of the Chicago Machineprofessional lacrosse team, an introduction to the Freshman lacrossecoaches and a visit from Fr. Jude and Benny. Father Jude welcomed thekids to Benet while Doug Tillett and Mike Byrne, the Benet Freshmancoaches, congratulated the kids on their decision to attend Benet andchallenged them to keep active in lacrosse all fall and winter. Wethank Jake, Coach Tillett and Coach Byrne, and Father Jude and Bennyfor taking the time to meet with us. |
There will be a Benet group entered in the Players fall league this may not be a full Benet team but rather players spread out on many teams but we want to get as many players involved as possible. If you are playing a fall sport we do not recommend to enter this.
Games to be held at Nike Park Sunday afternoons starting at 12pm. Please register for either Varsity or JV divisions.
Sundays 9/13- 10/18 Session fee ( 6 weeks) $120
Beginning September first, there will be after school lacrosse workouts on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 – 4:00. This time will focus on stick skills, lifting, conditioning & team building. This will be open to all four grade levels and will be run by the Varsity captains. All players that do not participate in a fall sport are expected to attend these workouts.
