Benet players Jason Krogulski, Kyle Honn, Vince Flaska, and Charlie Jarosz. recently played in the Vail Shootout held in Vail Colorado. This is the largest lax tournament in the USA. They participated with the 19U Midwest Elite team. The 19U team included players from the following high schools: Benet, Neuqua Valley, Waubonsie Valley, Naperville Central, West Chicago, Glenbard West, Lyons Township, Stevenson, St. Viator, Sandburg and St. Charles.
The guys played against elite talent from Baltimore, Winnipeg Canada, Colorado, Sacramento CA, Kansas City, and Nebraska. The team finished in 3rd place with a 4-3 record. The team competed in the toughest pool during pool play. The pool included the Champion Baltimore Crab team, 2nd place Colorado Favorites, and Division 2 winner Winnipeg.

State Champions
Benet played Marian Catholic in their opener on Friday night beating them 11-0. This is the second shut-out in Benet history as well as their first ever playoff shutout. We beat Lake Zurich on Tuesday 11-3. We beat Mundelein 13-3 on Thursday. We beat St. Ignatius in the State Championship(Lacrosse Cup) game held at Toyota Park on June 1st at 10:00am, 14-7.
Note: Kyle Honn a senior for the Redwings had a birthday to remember. Kyle turned 18 on June 1st playing in the State Championship. He did a little celebrating by scoring 9 goals, named the MVP of the game, then quickly headed off to Benet to Graduate from High School with his fellow Senior State Champions.
This past Sunday the coaches of the IHSLA got together to determine the Playoff seedings, All Conference teams, and All State teams. Benet was unanimously voted #1 in the B Class for the playoffs, therefor holding home field advantage through the tournament. All Conference players are as follows

Last Weeks Events in Review
Varsity played three games in the playoffs. First they played Lake Zurich on Tuesday and beat them 11-3. Thursday they played Mundelein the #4 ranked team in the playoffs, beating them handily by a score of 13-3. Sunday was the State Championship, St. Ignatius made more of game than was expected, but Kyle Honn decided he was going to outscore everyone helping give the Redwing their first of many State Championships to come. Redwings won the game 14-7.
